A day off

May 31, 2013

Just a quick reminder that sometimes we all need a day off.  Not just a day away from work, but a day off from all the things we should or ought or have to do.  Don’t underestimate it’s value.  Don’t convince yourself you don’t have time for such a luxury.  It’s not a luxury, every now and then it’s a need.

A day off can also mean a change of routine even at work. Yesterday, I went to Times of Refreshing in Durham and came away feeling uplifted and stronger spiritually than when I went in. And last week our computers and phones were off for a day. It was a blessing really because even though we were working our routine was gone and we could get to those little things that always get pushed to one side. At the end of the day we all agreed it was a great day.
