Save your Money

June 20, 2013

Many people spend lots of money on tickets to professional sporting events.  I have been known to do this myself from time to time.  And I’m not even saying that is so wrong.  But if you visit your local sports field on a sunny summer evening and can be entertained for free.  Three and four year olds “playing” soccer is good for a chuckle or two.  Going to local baseball games, whatever the age of the players, doesn’t involve looking for parking and you can always have a seat close to the field.  In the winter, a visit to the arena when there are ten year olds playing hockey lets you see effort and teamwork at it’s best.  And watching and listening to what is happening in the stands is also usually pretty entertaining.

So before you lament that you don’t have the time or money or patience for fitting the traffic to go to more professional ball, hockey or soccer games; consider supporting your friends, kids, friend’s kids, kid’s friends or anyone else you know who plays a sport right in your own back yard.

It was a pretty perfect night tonight. The little players love special fans too! Both two and four legged ones 😉
