Bless the Harvest

Happy First Day of Autumn!

Just as the picture says – “it’s not goodbye summer – it’s hello harvest.”  Being married to a farmer perhaps makes me more connected to the harvest than the average person.  I encourage you over the coming weeks, not just to marvel in the beautiful fall colours, but to also take a few minutes to think about all the things that are being harvested in Ontario at this time of year and the important role harvest time plays in feeding us for the months to come.  It’s pretty amazing to think about how all the small seeds planted in the soil in the spring turn into wonderful foods that feed and sustain us.  At this time of year it’s easy to give thanks for the simple things in life we need.

Take some time today to say “hello harvest”.

(can’t tell you the 10:00 am sky report or the yarn strands as it’s still too early).
