The Trouble with November

November 3, 2013

I’ve never been a big fan of the fall time change.  Yes, Yes, the extra hour, as opposed to losing an hour, is preferred, but I still don’t like it.  In the days following the time change it gets dark so early.  Arriving home from work, to find it’s already too dark to do anything outside is rather depressing.  So when you combine the time change impacts with the shortening days, it just feels a bit too loose loose for me.  November can quickly become a dark, cold month with the joys of Christmas still weeks away.

A great writer, or at least a positive one, would take this negative introduction paragraph and go on to explain many great ways to get through these dark days, but that isn’t going to happen.  I don’t have great ideas or cheerful and encouraging words to pass along about November.  November’s weather and lack of sunshine and daylight might just make it the worst month of the year.   And the most positive thing I can say about this unfortunate month we are in, is that it really does make all the rest of the months better, because at least they aren’t November.

So I hope that you have some tips and tricks to get through the month.  And if you do, please pass them along to me – I could use any help you can offer.

Sky Report all day long – clear blue sunny skies.  This beautiful sunny day did make tonight’s early darkness easier to take.
