Another CS Lewis

November 12, 2013

For those of you who are sick of the CS Lewis quotes, this post isn’t for you.  But when I first read the quote below, I though “it’s a good one that I should share”.

Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars.  You have to let go to move forward. CS Lewis

As I said in the past, this wise man, long since dead, seems to be able convey things in a timeless way. Maybe that is the true definition of wisdom.  Truly wise things transcend time.  In addition, to the wisdom of the quote above, I love that monkey bars are also timeless. Monkey bars were around generations ago and monkey bars are still around today.  And for some of us the “fear” associated with letting go on the monkey bars perfectly aligns with the fear that can be associated with moving forward after a painful experience.  So if this is where you are at, be reminded that the next rung on the monkey bars is always there for you to grab onto and feel safe once again.

Sky Report at 10:00 – it was cold and windy but still pretty sunny at this point.

Yarn Strands – light slate blue and rain (as the sky wasn’t that bright)
