Christmas gets lost

December 20, 2013

Sometimes I think that Christmas gets lost in all the “stuff” related to Christmas.  Christmas in Christian faith and cultures is about celebrating the birth of Jesus.   And for many people, it is also about spending time with family and friends.  But for me sometimes it feels like celebrating the birth of Christ and being with people you love, gets overwhelmed by the food preparation, gift buying, logistic managing, visit scheduling, Sunday school concert planning, workplace decorating, tradition keeping, and overall merry making.   I love Christmas and most of the stuff that I’ve just mentioned that goes with it; but I work really hard to make sure that in all doing all that stuff I don’t forget the things that make all that stuff worth doing.

Whatever is at the heart of Christmas for you, I hope it doesn’t get lost in all the other great stuff related to Christmas.

Sky Report at 10:00 – foggy with a light mist

Yarn Strands – two white, because while it wasn’t snowing, there was snow on the ground and relatively thick white fog.
