“Polar Vortex”

January 7, 2014

So we all know it’s cold.  As I recently read on twitter “Here is a little test: In winter it gets ______ outside.  If you were able to fill in the blank, stop acting surprised.”  It made me laugh.  We tend to forget that we live in the northern hemisphere and it will be cold.  It’s been cold before and it will be cold again.  Nevertheless we still like to talk about it.  And it’s rather humorous that when necessary, the media folk can pull out a new term for this cold (hence the title of polar vortex), because a fancy term does make plain old cold much more news worthy.   For the record, I’m coping okay with the cold.  That said, I don’t find it at all alarming that I’m now carrying an extra pair of wool socks in my purse, just in case.  So then again, maybe I’m not coping so well. 🙂

Stay warm.  Stay safe.

Good thing you also have an exceptionally long scarf to wear 🙂 You can layer up!
