More vs Better

April 18, 2014

In life it is easy to get caught in the trap of believing that better equals more.  That to improve you need to do more of something.  But in some cases doing something “more” won’t necessarily make you better.   Doing something more or practising something more won’t always make you better if you don’t care about what you are doing.  Because practice alone doesn’t produce outcomes that matters.  Repetition isn’t the same as putting your heart and effort into something.  Conversely, if your heart isn’t in it, more time or practice won’t ever be enough.  We need to stop chosing “more” in an effort to be better and instead focus on what we really care about and do those things better.  Because better is better than more.
