doing it by yourself

April 4, 2015

Many things in life are more enjoyable with others.  And so we seek out people with similar interests, make plans, form groups, encourage others to give it a try, etc., etc., etc..  There is nothing wrong with this.  Research shows that having the support of others is a highly effective way to help achieve ones goals.  But the challenge becomes when we use other people’s lack of interest as an excuse.  Even if nobody else wants to try something, or do something, that shouldn’t stop you from doing it. It’s great to share experiences with others, but if it’s really important to you, you need to be prepared to do it by yourself.  Who knows, it might be the best thing you ever did.
